New Jaguar XE Revealed
New Jaguar XE Revealed.Basically there will be four technology previews, the details of which will be released before the big reveal on September 8 highlighting the technical, design and engineering features in the all-new Jaguar XE, complete with information on its advanced aluminium architecture, unique driver aids and new Ingenium engine range.
New Jaguar XE Revealed
Right from the start there is a major claim from Jaguar with regards to the construction of the new Jaguar XE and the technology involved in it as they believe that the lightweight construction expertise and sophisticated chassis that has been used in addition to the new family of Ingenium engines – all designed, engineered and manufactured in the UK – will bring levels of innovation never seen before in this particular auto segment.

And what does this all-new, aluminium-intensive architecture give you, the driver of the Jaguar XE? The answer is apparently “thrilling performance, agile handling and precise, responsive steering, with outstanding levels of refinement.”

Mike Cross, Chief Engineer of Vehicle Integrity, adds to this: “Jaguars have always been renowned for a balance of precise handling and a high-quality ride. The XE is the culmination of everything the company has learned over the years. The Integral Link rear suspension provides a combination of supple ride and crisp handling that is unmatched in this segment. We are on target to deliver a vehicle that dynamically outperforms our rivals.”

This is something that you will only find on the Jaguar XE as the integral link suspension gives the car some major benefits over the conventional multi-link designs that you find in its rivals by providing lateral and longitudinal stiffness, meaning that the integral link can deliver sharp response and handling whilst maintaining a refined, luxurious ride.
And in order to ensure both a lightweight product and one that will also be strong and hard-wearing, many of the components in the integral link suspension have been forged or hollow-cast in aluminium.
Front suspension based on F-TYPE sportscar New Jaguar XE Revealed
The advanced design of the front suspension, mounted to a subframe with cast aluminium suspension towers, is based on Jaguar’s flagship F-TYPE sportscar and includes some of the key components used in the sportscar that are designed to deliver Jaguar XFR-levels of stiffness. Components such as the XE’s double wishbone front suspension that delivers the highest levels of handling and road holding make sure that the XE apes the level of agility and ‘connected’ steering feel of the sportscar.
Again, just like in the rear suspension, many components are made from cast and forged aluminium and some are produced using a patented process.

The Jaguar is the first Jaguar to be equipped with the latest generation Electric Power Assisted Steering, and this is just a small part of the software that the car uses to deliver better quality steering feel such as variable steering damping, ease of low-speed manoeuvring and the ability to adapt to Jaguar Drive Control settings as well as a range of Active Safety and Driver Aid features within the Electric Power Assisted Steering.New Jaguar XE Revealed
All Surface Progress Control
Even with the very best traction control on the market, rear-wheel drive cars can struggle to pull away when starting from rest on very slippery surfaces – but Jaguar don’t want that to happen with the Jaguar XE. So they have developed a completely new feature in the class: All Surface Progress Control (ASPC).New Jaguar XE Revealed
Using the experiences gained over decades of Jaguar Land Rover drives using off-road traction systems, ASPC electronically gains traction a lot quicker and a lot easier than with humans at the controls by using low-speed cruise control to deliver optimum traction in the most slippery conditions without skidding and without the driver using the pedals.New Jaguar XE Revealed
